Frequently Asked Questions

• What are the pricing guidelines for an affordable electrician in Staten Island for residential projects?

At Daven Electric Corp., we understand how important it is to stick to a budget without sacrificing safety or quality. Residential electrical work in Staten Island varies based on the scope of the project, but here’s a general idea:

  • Minor Repairs (like outlet replacements or switch fixes): $150–$300
  • Lighting Installation (indoor or outdoor): $200–$600
  • Panel Upgrades: Starting around $1,200 depending on your home’s needs
  • Whole-home rewiring services: Typically ranges between $4,000–$10,000

Every job is unique, so we always start with a transparent estimate and walk you through what’s involved. Our team is made up of licensed electricians in Staten Island who know the local codes and how to deliver safe, lasting results. No hidden fees, no upsells—just solid electrical service done right.

• Can a commercial electrician in Staten Island handle office or new construction electrical installations?

Yes, absolutely. At Daven Electric Corp., our commercial electricians in Staten Island are equipped to handle office fit-outs, retail spaces, and full-scale new construction projects. We’ve worked with property managers, developers, and business owners across Staten Island to design and install electrical systems that are reliable, energy-efficient, and code-compliant.

  2. Electrical panel installation and upgrades
  3. Lighting systems, including LED retrofits and smart lighting controls
  4. Generator installation for backup power

We coordinate with your GC, follow project timelines, and ensure every aspect of the electrical system meets New York State standards. Whether you’re outfitting a new office or expanding a facility, we’re the Staten Island electrical contractor businesses trust.

• How do I know if my property requires rewiring services or an upgrade?

Wiring problems aren’t always visible, but they can create serious safety hazards over time. Here are some signs your Staten Island home or commercial property may need rewiring or an electrical upgrade:

  • Flickering lights or frequent breaker trips
  • Warm outlets or switches
  • Outdated wiring (knob-and-tube or aluminum wiring)
  • You rely on extension cords or have too few outlets
  • A burning smell near electrical panels or outlets
  • Your panel is older than 25 years

Our team can inspect your current setup and give you honest feedback. If rewiring is needed, we’ll plan it with minimal disruption. We also handle electrical panel upgrades, surge protection installation, and smart home electrical solutions to modernize your property. All work is done to New York State Certified Electrician Board standards.

• How does an electrician ensure that electrical wiring services meet all local New York State code requirements?

Every electrical job we do at Daven Electric Corp. is carried out with strict attention to NY State code compliance. Here’s how we keep your property safe and up to standard:

  • Site Assessment – We evaluate your existing wiring and power load
  • Permit Filing – We handle all required filings with local Staten Island departments
  • Up-to-Date Knowledge – Our team stays current on New York’s latest electrical code updates
  • Inspection-Ready Work – Every installation or repair is done so it passes final inspections the first time

We’re fully licensed, insured, and certified to work throughout Staten Island. That means your residential or commercial electrician is not only experienced but qualified to keep your building safe and legally sound.

• What steps are involved in circuit breaker repair, and how do they contribute to overall safety?

A faulty breaker can pose a real risk—especially if it’s not tripping when it should. At Daven Electric Corp., we take circuit breaker repair seriously. Here’s how we typically handle it:

  1. Diagnose the Issue – We inspect the panel, breaker, and wiring connected to it
  2. Test Electrical Loads – To ensure your system isn’t overloaded
  3. Replace or Repair the Breaker – Using components that match your panel’s specs
  4. Inspect for Additional Hazards – Like corroded wires or improper grounding
  5. Test and Verify – Once replaced, we ensure everything is safe and working properly

Breaker issues often go hand-in-hand with larger problems. We’ll let you know if it’s an isolated issue or if you need a panel upgrade. Whether it’s for a home electrical repair in Staten Island or an office electrical repair, your safety comes first.
